Wire
These products are all miniature wires
created especially for bead stringing. These wires are soft, supple, and
very strong for their size. You can knot these wires like thread! Most
people choose to use them with crimps (to fasten the ends when connecting
to clasps), but they can also be used with bead tips, if you prefer. The
more strands that are used in a product, the more flexible the wire, so 19
strand will be more flexible than 7 strand, for example.

All sizes of Memory Wire
come in pre-packaged, 1 ounce packages. We currently carry only the
silvery (steel) colored wire. Memory Wire is made from Stainless
Steel that has been tempered to permanently retain it's shape, size and
"springy-ness". It is very hard and should be cut with heavy
duty pliers, or with a special Memory Wire shear that is sold on the Tools
page.

These are the stretch and
elastic cords we carry for beading.
These stringing materials make great bracelets, since the resulting piece
can simply be pulled over your hand - no clasp is required! Elastic cords
can be knotted to close the ends.

Silk knotting
is a beautiful way to string beads and pearls . Knotting also protects
beads from chipping and scratching. Pearl necklaces are traditionally
strung on silk but the technique lends itself to any bead or gemstone.
Nylon thread
comes in three sizes:
Size #4 Thread is 0.60mm in diameter. Each card contains 72 inches (6
feet) of thread.
Size #5 Thread is 0.65mm in diameter. Each card contains 72 inches (6
feet) of thread.
Size #8 Thread is 0.80mm in diameter. Each card contains 72 inches (6
feet) of thread.
A thin twisted needle is pre-attached to all cards of
thread for ease of use.
Silk
thread is a smooth, glossy thread that has been traditionally used for
pearl bead stringing and knotting between each pearl. Silk thread is
packaged pre-attached to a thin twisted needle for ease of use. The thread
has the correct twist, so there is no need to double the thread and it is
easy to knot. Available in three thread sizes that are popular for use
with pearls, white color only.

and Cotton Cording
Our cords come in 1mm
or 2mm sizes and are sold by
the spool.
Because leather cord, satin rattail
and cotton cord is relatively thick compared to threads, the options
for finishing it are somewhat different. You can tie knots in the leather
as part of your design, and sliding knots can be used to form adjustable
length jewelry. For designs where you desire a clasp instead of knots,
there are several other options for finishing leather. We sell extra large
sterling silver crimps that can be used to crimp leather just as you would
any other stringing material. You can also use special leather crimps that
have a loop at the end that can be fastened to any clasp using a split
ring.
