SILVER FUSING
Instructor: Lynne Anderson
labeadjeweled@aol.com
Level: All Levels
Class Fee: $35.00
Love the look of handcrafted silver jewelry but don’t want to spend a fortune to get gorgeous,
one-of-a-kind designs? Learn techniques to make solid interlocking chains from fine silver wire. Have you always wanted to solder jump rings together? This is the “GREEN” way to do it. No toxic chemicals or fumes!
Silver fusing is a technique gaining popularity among crafters, particularly beaders and
wireworkers. It’s a quick and easy technique that’s terrific to incorporate into your "bag of tricks".
Because fine silver is used in this technique, you don’t get blackening when it is heated
so you don’t have to go through the extra steps of removing fire scale or polishing the pieces. Once
you’ve mastered the basics, you can really do anything!
This class is so much fun! You start with plain silver wire and use a small torch (don't be afraid, its very simple and safe) to make different sizes and shapes of fused rings. You can then embellish them with hammering, stamping, or liver of sulpher.
