How to Use a Snaptite Setting
Creating beautiful pendants is a snap with Snap-TiteŽ settings. Snap-TiteŽ settings are so simple to use for setting your faceted stones. They come in Sterling Silver and Gold-Filled in earrings and pendent findings. Click here for Snaptite Settings
Step 1: Choose the exact size setting for your calibrated stone. For example, if you have a 6mm stone, choose a 6mm setting.
Step 2: Place the stone with the crown face down on a soft surface, such as a velvet jewelry pad.
Step 3: Position the Snap-TiteŽ bezel above the stone with the prongs of the bezel facing down.
Step 4: Press down on the stone with the bezel, you should hear an audible snap, hence the name Snap-TiteŽ. Your stone is now set.
Step 5: Check and make sure the prongs are snug against the girdle of your stone. The girdle is the widest part of a faceted stone and separates the crown from the pavilion (the top of the stone from the bottom). If the prongs are not perfect, use a pair of chain nose pliers and gently press on opposing prongs. Gentle is the key -- too much pressure could twist your setting or damage your stone. Repeat this step if necessary. Your stone is now set and ready to wear.
