How to Use a Extender Chain
Have you ever made a necklace that is just a couple of inches too short for the wearer and you have to remake the whole thing? Or tried to guess what size to make a anklet, necklace or bracelet for a gift. Not fun! Extender chains are the simple answer to these dilemmas, and couldn’t be easier to use with these instructions.
USING A OPEN JUMP RING
Simply attach an extender chain to a chain using an open jump ring. Remember, when using an open jump ring to always twist side to side, never open the ends away from one another. You will always want to use a lobster clasp that fits through the chain so that you can connect it to any link you like.
USING A LINK
Attach a link to a chain with a small open jump ring and attach the extender chain to that link in the same way.
USING AN EXTENDER WITH OTHER MATERIALS
Add an extender on a satin rattail necklace by simply attaching the extender chain to loop end of the necklace fabric clamp. Again we used a open jump ring.
You can select from several extender chains by clicking here or visiting the Components - silver findings area of the website and then clicking on extender chains.Or make your extender chains by using chain by the foot and dangle your favorite charm or swarovski crystal bead at the end!
